Important Reminders:
Writing: On Monday we celebrated the end of our narrative unit! All third grade classes went around to each room and read our friends' narrative pieces. We will then begin our next writing unit, Adapting and Writing Fairy Tales. The class is extremely excited about this unit! We will focus on studying classic fairy tales in order to gain inspiration for adapting our own fairy tales!
Reading: This week we will continue our second unit: Character Studies. As we study the characters in our book, we will notice that our stories are often like mountains. We will follow our characters as they go "up" and "down" the mountain, making predictions along the way.
Social Studies: This week we will be finish up Chapter 2: Land Forms and Continents. Last week we discussed the 7 continents, 5 oceans, 8 Missouri border states, and natural resources. This week we will discuss how to read a grid map. We will have our test on Wednesday. Study guides were sent home on Friday!
Math: This week we will finish up Chapter 3: Subtraction. We will focus on subtraction across zeros. Our test will be this Thursday! Study guides will be sent home today.
Have a great week!
