This week we will focus on creating powerful introductions and conclusions for our speeches.  We will also make sure to organize our writing using paragraphs.  Soon we will begin publishing!

Reading: We will begin our fifth unit: Mysteries.  This unit is going to be super fun!  The students will be reading their own mystery books with a partner, as well as we will be reading a mystery book as a whole class.  We will introduce this unit to the class this week.

Math: This week we will continue Chapter 9: Properties and Equations.  We will focus on creating expressions using variables.  We will also learn the order of operations in order to evaluate expressions.  The test for this chapter is tentatively set for next Tuesday the 14th.  Study guides will come home next Monday!

Science: This week we will be finishing up our science chapter on the water cycle.  We will continue to talk about three types of clouds: cumulus, stratus, and cirrus.  The test for this chapter will be on Wednesday!  Study guides came home last Thursday.

Have a great week!
