November 14th-18th
Hello Families!
Listed below are the important reminders and objectives for our week. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
Important Reminders:
Writing: This week, we will begin our third writing unit: Informational Books! We start this unit off by brainstorming topics we would like to become experts on. We will then choose a topic and look for books, magazines, and any information we can find to help us begin our unit!
Reading: This week we will begin our third reading unit: Reading to Learn. This week we will focus on previewing multiple nonfiction texts and taking a look at the text features that we notice. We will also work on understanding the main idea of a nonfiction text.
Social Studies: This week we will begin Ch. 8: Our Government. We will focus on learning about the Local Government, the State Government, and the National Government. We will complete a project about the Three Branches of Government during this chapter, as well as take a look at the different important Symbols to our country. This is a short chapter. Our test will be Tuesday, Nov. 22nd.
Math: This week we will begin Chapter 6: Multiplication and Division Patterns. We will focus on the multiplication and division patterns of 2, 5, and 10. The test for this chapter will be next Tuesday, the 22nd, right before we leave for Thanksgiving break. I know we will also have a social studies test on this day, but I know that the kiddos will be ready and can handle this! :)
Have a great week!
